get the bar to you hip, practice a Raileyto blind
then do a railey and get the bar touching your hip then LOOK where you want to go.
voila the bar's there ready for the grabbing

Yes the Raily to Blind is a great starting point. But first try riding blind with the handle behind your back so when you land you will feel comfortable. If you are in a place with waves or a river mouth with rolling waves try rotating off a wave inwards(towards kite) pulling the bar to your hip. While pulling the bar to your hip it is import to hold on with both hands as long as possible, if you let go of your back hand too soon all the power of the kite will be in your arms and it will be too much. Also while going off the wave don't be cutting up wind or side wind, head slightly downwind so when you are in the air the kite doesn't have as much power, this will make it easier to pull the bar towards your hip and back. Another important point is to not keep your arms straight. Always keep your arms locked so the bar is closer to you at all times, you will rotate faster and the bar will not be so far away from you.
Good luck and remember to ride with your leash in suicide so that your kite doesn't flag out every time you let go of the bar
