Hi,
I am new to the sport and have been out a couple of time and have been offered two kites by a friend. They are the flexifoil ion 2 2008 12.5 meter and 8.5 meter for $612.027 for both. Is this kite good and is it a bargain?

i have the ion 4 2010 8.5m, its great but is hard to relaunch in light winds . thats the only thing .
it really depends if the kites are worn out .price sounds ok if they holds pressure and are not worn out .

Yeah buddy I learnt on the Ion2. Had a 8.5m and 10.5m and they were great. Solid kites with steel pulleys on the bridal, easy trimming system, and easy enough relaunch. Check all of the seam stitching on the leading edge for signs of wear and make sure the lines going through the bar are in good condition. They are not generally recommended as learners kites because they require a bit more flying skill to get the most out of them than your standard learners switchblade. But my mates said i learnt really quick and I had a great time so yeah i'd recommend them. Once you get past the up-wind stage you will really appreciate what they can do. Price sounds about right if they are in good condition without needing any repairs. Especially if they come with pump, leash and bags.
