Hey Guys!

Firstly im another newbie to the sport, and loving ever minute of it..
I have had a few lessons from an instructor, and been able to conquer the basics pretty well.

Just wanted to get some idea of good beaches people recommend to use in Sydney/ wollongong for newbiew kiters?

Dont want to be annoyance to other kiters, and people on the bech so trying to findout some quiet spots good to work on my skills..

You just hear of bad stories with people getting hit by kites, and dont want to be another..

Thanks guys!

i too am a newbie as this is my first summer on the kite. i have found that on a good wind day the first groyn at botany is always chaos. That being said, if the wind is there, be sure to get out of the main area and head off to the fringes, i have found that most guys are more than happy to help you out IF YOU approach them.

dont wait for someone to come help you. Nor should it be anyone elses responsibility to help u out etc, but take into consideration their time. i have only found 1 guy ever to be rude out there after asking for advise and 99 other guys and girls who are more than happy to help if approached nicely :)

Dave's right. First groyne is very busy and at high tide there is not much beach. We tend to get a lot of new guys at first groyne making it a difficult spot for all. Best to spread out. On the plus side, it's a good place to meet other kiters of a similar standard.

Thanks for the tips!
Just don't want to be a nuisance to other kiters in the area...
Thanks!
