I've managed to cut all the way through straps on both sides - looking at that flash of red i think we have the same harness. I've over lapped the tape and hand stitched mine with waxed sailing twine and it is holding fine, so stitching a patch will work fine. Don't know if this is a wider problem or just that particular bar.
Yeah man iv had a naish cartel harness strap snap right thru well I was out on the water everything went. Lucky the kite just crashed in front of me could of ended up chasin it down the beach
I had a harness do the same thing, i was lucky enough not to let go of the kite and rode in un hooked. I got a boot maker to replace the straps and it was good as new
i have had MUCH WORSE then that. torn 60% way thru the belt.
took it into the shoe repair and key cutter guy in middle of the shopping centre infront of coles/woolys he got 2 pieces leather eitherside of the rip and did a rectangular BOX STITCH.
****s stronger then it was before 100% fixed. cost $12 ?
i had to exlain to him that it needed to be slim enough that it would still be threaded threw the buckle. i allso explained to him that it would be submerged in the ocean with great forces on it at all times.
as a teenager i could never understand who went to those little shoe key guy booths.
