I have just crashed two kites in two days into the trees and ripped them both, I have bought some ripstop nylon fabric and plan to sew it up. First crash was with a windsurfing harness and the chicken loop managed to come undone from the hook and the second crash I was flying semi-inflated kite and it was hard to control in light wind and it went 12 o'clock power zone into tree.
I have two questions about this:
1. The outside bridle lines (outer-lines) appear to by loose when the kite is up at 12 and only one side is taught when I pull it to one side. The middle bridles or inner bridles are tight. I look at everyone else's and all bridles are tight all the time (outer and inner). My lines and kite are 06 cabrinha, did they make em loose back then?
2. What happens if the kite is a bit soft? How will it handle?
OMG! Mate, do not kite surf. Take up boogy dancing or something else.
Mate, mate I have taken your advice. I just threw all my kites and boards in the bin went to a local boogy dance night around the corner. Thank you so much for your advice, I really feel like I am staying out of harms way thanks to you. God save you mate, you are a bloody legend.
Keep up with all the good advice on these forums...
