I have a bar and lines from an old C kite (hardly used like new) but it has 27m lines. How could I shorten them?

Can you just cut them and tie knots...?
How would you sew them like the pros?

You can shorten your lines to any length you want or repair broken lines with a sleeving kit from a kite shop (a kite shop, not a kiteboarding shop). Cut all four (or five) of your lines to the same length and follow the directions for installing the sleeve with the included tool.

no one was answering you so I looked it up...
Hope it helps

Have done it many times ,some of the older style lines came with a floating sleeve so you could cut them to size and restitch the new sleeve or tie a figure 8 knot, some early p-lynn lines were all tied on the sleeve in a fig8 knot so that if you broke a line you could readjust the rest,if you dont have a floating sleeve unpick the end sleeve and slide it along the line as far as you need to shorten, then tie a knot in the line on the waste part at end of the sleeve, do the same to all four lines to get them exactly even them you can either get a sail maker to stitch or tie a fig 8 knot and stretch you may have to repeat a few times to get the lenghts perfect but it works, without the sleeve is a no go as end will wear and snap quick.

Ensure you have your bar set correctly when measuring out lines, you can buy premium quality European dynema sets online for 70 dollars, not sure what the shops charge
