Thats a good link Windreams, just wish more people knew the 'right of way' rules before getting out on the water ...
I got a bit slack with the previous post as I was rushing out the door. I’m a visual person so when I was being told about right of way rules I couldn’t picture what they were trying to explain but once I come across this web site it made it all look so simple. There's also a good "right of way" video in the link.

A good general guide but in real life...
1. Wankers who stand on the beach admiring how well their kite sits at zenith for 30 minutes lose any kind of right of way.
2. Ho ho ho.
3. This necessitates at least one rider figuring out who will be downwind when the kites cross... Que a game of chicken.
4. This usually decends into rule 3 -- who rides square to the wind?,
5. People get huffy about this, as no matter how much space you give them, they consider it dangerous because ixnay on rule 2.
6. Should be rephrased "the rider on the directional assumes right of way by refusing to acknowledge rule 2 before gybing; a three inch swell is of course considered a wave."
I prefer the Bill and Ted rule of sailing...
