I can't find anywhere to search for "perth kitesurf crew" etc.

on the upwinders website: http://www.upwinder.com.au/connection-app-slack.html

it says: In Perth, around 20 "channels" have been created including;Beginners2pm downdiner4pm downdinerWoodies CrewPond CrewMelville Crew AND MORE

But i can't search for them. I can search where it says "jump to conversation" and under that there is #general and #random but when I search even for "perth" it won't return with anything at all.

I am browsing on my own team, do I have to sign in to another team as in "downwinder 2pm" team?

This is some pretty complicated ****... I wonder how many people even use this? because there is no explanation or anything anywhere...

Here is an explanation of how to join the gerokitecrew slac team.

www.facebook.com/gerokitecrew/videos/1379482158730925/

The structure is you register then need to be invited to join a team. The upwinder has an invite link for the perth team.

Then there are channels for different interest areas within a team. On a phone you swipe right a couple of times to go too the team selection page.
The desktop version is a bit more obvious. It had me scratching my head at the start too and ive worked in it for 35 years. Once you get signed in to a team it does work really well so persevere.

Cheers

Thanks for that info Dave, I didn't know you needed an invite. It really would've helped if that was advertised somewhere on the site. Hopefully this works! ;)
