Yesterday (after faceplanting hard!), I got back up on my board and saw that my right footstrap was twisting around. ON returning to the beach, I found the insert had been pulled out of board. Stopped using immediately and got back home and removed all hardware.

Any advice on IF this is repairable by epoxying it back in?

Board is UNDERGROUND FLX 148 x 46 (yes a biggie for trying to teach me upwind!)

I have no experience with this kind of repair and am interested to hear what people have to say. I would say epoxying or fiberglassing the original nut back in will never work. Unless there is some purpose made repair item I think the best thing would be to drill all the way through the board and put a round head roofing bolt through the bottom (stainless steel if they exist) maybe even with a big washer. The small dome left on the underside would have little if any effect on performance, especially if your in early learning mode. It wont be pretty but may be the only way to ensure enough ongoing strength to make it still usable - at least you wont have to trash it.

Try posting in the "Kitesurfing > General" forum. You might get a bigger audience of people that have had to solve the problem before.
I'm also interested to hear what the experts have to say.
The bolt through the bottom sounds like it could work, but I'd be opening up the hole and seeing what a heap of Araldite could do - then again I'm no expert.

Had the exact same thing happen on my 2007 Underground FLX132 x 39.

Due to the board not being worth much it wasn't worth getting it professionally repaired.

My quick fix was to completely fill the missing insert hole with araldite 2 part epoxy (just make sure you clean and dry out the hole as good as you can - hairdryer helps) then just changed angle of binding slightly to use different insert holes for mounting, the slots on my foot pads meant that the foot stance did not change noticeably.

Have been using the board for the past year and a half since fixing with no issues.

I'd say as others have mentioned above that you will struggle to be able to fit a new insert in without it pulling straight back out.

Flick me a message if you have any questions.

Gday mate you could easily repair that, what you need to do is cut away the broken glass into a square or round so that only good glass is left, looks like a 40mm square should get rid of all that damaged glass.
There are 2 ways of doing the repair ;
1: go to the local boat builder an buy a T nut stainless steel with a thread to match your bolt looks like 8mm or 5/16th then cut a piece of ply wood to the 40mm square you have cut out , ply @12mm thick then just cut the foam so that the wood just sits under the origanal glass put a hole in the wood to accomidate the t nut smash the t nut i to the wood and glass in the board with several overlapping pieces of glass over the ply and other bolt holes , be sure you sand the area first to get a good key. Aralite no good you need west system or other epoxy soler res ok too.
2: cut the broken glass out then sink nut back in board and glass over over all the nuts you will need probably 18oz thick of glass (3X 6 oz)
Then once set 24hrs drill and tap threads in the nuts.

Easy

The easiest fix is to simply move the foot strap to a different hole (or pair of holes). Either move the one strap a pair of holes over, or swap both straps and mount them facing the other way. I think the holes on that board are symmetrical. You can fill the torn hole with anything you want. Epoxy, silicone, wax.

An alternative is to drill a new hole and put a stainless bolt all the way through the board. Your board looks a bit rooted there so it doesn't have to be a nice fix.

Given the vintage and condition of the board you could always get a new one, or make one out of a bit of marine ply.
