I learnt on a 10m Ozone Catalyst on the weekend for my first lesson and it was easy as pie to handle.

the catalyst is a great beginner to intermediate kite with huge depower, the edge although highly powerfull is a very stable well behaved kite, but can build up a bit to much speed when unfimiliar with edging your board i teach on my edges as they have more pull and have a better success at getting people up on the board, they require a lot less input compared to the catalyst so you dont have to work them as hard, the edges are superbly made but a bit lighter in construction compared to the catalyst, both kites would be fine after youve had some lessons

Hindu, spend your money on lessons first, get some training in your flying skills and feed-back from your instructor. Ask your instructor about gear and make you get some good guidance especially when buying used gear. Your instructor will guide you on what sizes to get and what kind of kite is best for you.

By the way the Ozone edge is about as far as a beginner friendly kite you can get. Other Ozone models are much better suited for beginners, like the Catalyst.
