that would have to be a first ,someone inquiring about a kite for a beginner that didn't come off the ark and that actually flies
i still use my 7m rev (1) whenever i can ,fairly bulletproof apart from the centre line
...way to go wheels!!

use their gear at first.

before you buy the rev (which is a fine kite) consider that its a 4 line compared to the rebel which is a five line. regardless of what kite you have i think there's something to be said for having a quiver that all have the same sort of bar setup and safety. if you already have one rebel, maybe get another to go with it. there are plenty of them about.

djdojo is right.
Especially as a learner it is good practice to fly the same kites.
Personally I wouldnt put a beginner on a Rebel. Nothing wrong with them just a bit more technical and 'different' than a beginner needs to deal with. IMO the Rev would be a better choice at your stage, but not by a whole lot, so if you already have a rebel then go a rebel.
And Yes - there are lots around. We have an 11M in great condition in our pre-loved "op" shop as we speak.

If you go to the right school (ie most of the 'good' ones) you will probably be offered a package which will save you heaps on your gear set up. New or Used.
