small hole in Canopy-is it better to patch both sides or just one? have rounded off edges on patch

I'd tape both side if it's a hole so you don't have a sticky bit exposed, if it was a little cut then one side would be fine.

usually patch one side and then glue up the seam on the other side

Make the patches slightly different sizes too.

IMO tearaid type I is best canopy, clean both sides with alcohol wipe,, cut 2 circular patches, use a cap or lid as template, line up the tear with decorators tape to its original position, place on patch , turn over remove decorators tape then place patch aligned on the opposite side,, get a hair dryer and nylon roller for an even better grip, I've done heaps of these for locals , 4 years on and my mates bandit repairs are still as new, IMHO the canopy repair tape is too stiff and I find it peels easier and is generally not as long lasting

I just fixed a small 10mm tear in the middle of my canopy as well. I rang Moti and he posted me some iron on sticky material the same colour as the kite ($15). Stuck it on both sides of the kite, gave it a quick iron and it stuck extremely well and looks neat...

sorted,just patched up both sides,ready for the weeks winds now.yew!
