Hello I am a beginner living in Perth and was looking at buying a Cabrinha Switchblade 12m, I am 93kg and 6ft 3'.
Would this be a good kite?
Any recommendations on board size and type?

Cheers

As Usual, go to a kiteschool... they won't short change you (most of the time) and Darren Marshall down at Pinnaroo point (that's Australian Kitesurfing School i think) usually has some downtime to chew the fat.

But to answer your question, a 12 m wouldn't do you on its own, the best bet for the upcoming season is an 8- 10m kite. There's a reason you dont see many for cheap on the buy and sell section and that's cause it's your main wind kite, doing ~12-28 knots which is most of our seabreezes. For Learning (again go to a school) but the easiest board would be a twin tip, and about 144" by 42" at least for you. That should get on the plane easily but also be easy enough to manoeuvre.

Don't go too big on the baord. I'm about your size and I would have wanted to downsize my board nearly straight away if I had gone that big. Stay under 140 and get something geared to the style you want to ride. If you come from wakeboarding you may already know what you want in a board. lots of rocker equals slow and crap planing though.
