Hey,

I'm thinking about taking up kitesurfing from a wakeboarding background (sick of towing a boat) was just wondering what size kites are most commonly being used around the Brisbane, Gold coast and Sunshine coast areas.

Edit: I'm 6'3 and weigh 80kg.

Thanks guys.

12 is an average main kite here. Depending on the kite an 11 or 13 could also be acceptable.

A 10 and a 13 would be good for someone 80kg but i would get lessons before you buy a kite except for maby a trainer

What kites are they? Make and model??
Drop over to see the guys at Kitepower Brisbane, take your kites too, and have them check them out, I'm assuming they are used kites your uncle no longer wanted?
Kitepower does lessons too, one on one, tailored to your needs with an experienced instructor.
