I asked my instructors but the answer was lost in translation somewhere (they were Spanish)

I'm 65kg, 170cm And looking to spend my time at wello point (so around 15-25knts I guess average) and the gold coast. Im a beginner, but want a kite I won't outgrow quickly.

I'm unsure of what sized kite to look at buying?

Any heads up is appreciated

Hey champ. Are you looking for new or second hand?? I'm a beginner of 2 months. I'm the same weight 65kg. I've got a 11metre Fone Volt 2011 model. I got mine new. It's been tops and has great reviews online. The wind range is from 15-20knots. However have used it in as little as 11knots to 25knots. Would not take it Over 25 or even 20 as a beginner. My instructor advised for my weight to get an 8metre aswell. The guys at surf FX in southport are great re advise on gear. Give em a call.

Agree with Ruggers

I bought a good seconds 12 mt switchy but it was a bit daunting trying to learn on as any mistake prob meant a good old drag down the beach so I also got an older style 5 line ozone 7mt..this kite has been great, confident of not killing myself I have learnt to self launch and land it, body drag and next waterstart.

I am learning by myself on a remote beach, pretty much because I dont like to bother people to teach me.

The smaller kite once mastered will be my big wind kite and I will use the switchy the rest of the time..
