I only just started kiting over the summer, and see the dying end to the seabreezes coming soon. I'm keen to kite in winter however, hence thinking of getting another kite to compensate for the breezes.

Currently have a 9m slingshot rev, and weigh around 85kg, give or take a few good meals and beers. Any ideas on what size kite, make or brand.

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated

Last years winter was appauling kited maybe once every two weeks, whereas the year before it was twice a week with winds generally anywhere from 20kts to 40kts.

You will probably need another kite probably a 7. Try demoing the North fuse or rebels as they have a very big wind range ( good for winter).

Remember also with winter rig for the top end of the wind and this will give you room to move when it picks up also winter wind packs a bit more punch.

If you give people an idea of your general place of residence within Australia it would help enormously in selecting the right kite size. Winter winds in Sydney are slightly different to winter winds in Port Douglas for example.

This past winter was crap here too in Maui... 4 months of no wind or few days that were blowing so hard diapers had to be used (3.5m) failing that 1 month of bad wind now its good. Strange winds blowing for sure.
