Hi there,

completely newbie here.
I would like to buy my first kite after having done some lessons in the past.

Looking at the second hand market. My weight and height is around 65-70 kgs, 1.78cm.

Most of the kites I find second hand are 12m. Looking at charts and so on, seems like an 10/11m would be the ideal size for me?
What do you think? Will I struggle with a 12m, say, Naish Park, SwitchBlade or the like (hybrid on the bow side)?

I have a 133cm board already. Have practiced snowboard, surfing and wakeboard in the past if it helps.

Cheers!

Hey Hebbo,

I'm exactly the same height but I weigh around 75kg. Pretty sure my twin tip is a 133 and I live in Melbourne. I have an 8m, 10m and 12m kite these days. For Melbourne conditions I find I'm on the 10m most of the time. In lighter seabreezes I use the 12m and when it really picks up I use the 8 but I would say a good 70% or more of my time is on the 10. At your height and weight I would go with a 10. Enjoy!

Cheers,
Taz
