Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has tried or if it's possible (for a very green beginner) to kiteboard at Lysterfield Lake? I know it's used by windsurfers and was wondering if it's possible for Kiteboarding as i live about 15 mins from there!

Thanks!

Hmmm just looked in melways. It's pretty far inland, so i reckon it would be pretty gusty most of the time. Is there lots of hills and trees around it?
Anyway In the melways there was a contact number for park enquiries 131963 so maybe give them a call, or I notice there is a sailing club there also, so it could be polite to ask their permission to kite...
Hope that helps

yeah there are a few hills but if the wind direction was right it could be ok becuase it's fairly clear in some parts... it's also a fairly clean lake in terms of water quality (used to swim there as a kid) and it has nice sandy/grassy shores for riggingg...

might go down there again someday soon and have a closer look though - thanks for the info Beersy!

not good i reckon...

on northerly/southerly you wouldn't have enough space... it's too narrow. You could only do it in westerly / easterly. Westerlies are gusty by default, let alone inland. Plus the fact that it's inland and fully surrounded by tall forest.
