For $50 and hour you'd be lucky to get someone with a trainer kite. Consider the following:

1. Cost of someone's time
2. Cost of a kite which you are likely to trash because you are crashing it into the ground.
3. Cost of insurance

Why not save for a few weeks and get $600 together to do a 6hr zero to hero course??

I have booked mine in two x 3hr sessions two weeks apart due to work commitments.

Yeah fair enough, the main reason i dont want to shell out 600 is the fact that i may not even like it, having never done it before and been a surfer for 20 yrs it may or may not be my thing, just thought there might be someone with a spare kite, and 50 an hour is a pretty good hourly rate i reckon, as for insurance , im not gonna get someone to sign a contract mate.

i just bought my sister and her husband a kite package from a kite school for $50 for one hour to see if they like it. I'm sure it will mostly be flying a trainer and getting to know about kiting but at least you will know if you want to fork out the rest of the money for more lessons

I would suggest either get propper lessons or stick to surfing as there are enough guys doing it half assed as it is. Im sure once you get into it you will love it and not look back. Good luck.

But you might trash his $2000 kite in 10 minutes.

If you get hurt, or hurt someone else?

There's no cheap way into this sport. You'll get what you pay for.

I'd do it for $50 an hour. But like a mechanic, I'll charge travel time and callout fees. $Total would be $200 for a two hour lesson.
