Hi Peeps

Two questions,

1. Any recommendations for lessons in Perth area?
2. Any recommendations for buying gear? Have seen a number of places doing deals different ways, free lessons (gear seems alot more expensive), buy a trainer kite get the price back when you buy the new gear (seems about the best but limited to Airush). Obviously everybody has to be making money out of it, just looking for the best deal.

Cheers

Look for schools, WAKSA should have a list of approved schools, you wont need your own trainer kite or gear. The school will put you through the course and get you to a stage where you can get up on the board and ride safely. Then they can advise you on gear, kite sizes and boards to best help your progression as it will vary depending on how well you pick it up. Spending $500 on some lessons seems expensive but is worth every sent, then look at gear. Deals offering lessons and kite packages that look to good to be true normally are, once they have your cash and you have your gear it can be hard to learn, especially with limited hrs of training and gear that may not suit you.

Dont be concerned if you cant afford to get lessons and brand new gear there is a lot of secondhand and runnout gear around at a very affordable price, you will be a better more confident ridder if you spend the cash on lessons, Proper lessons from a kiteboarding school, not a shop just trying to make a buck.

Cheers for that, certainly don't intend on skimping on lessons, I don't want to end up like the guy in that video. Bit surprised you would say I don't need my own trainer kite? Alot of people seem to recommend them, but maybe at nearly $300 a pop the money is better spent on extra lessons? I'm leaning towards AKS over here, seem to be on here alot.

Hi Bazka6,

Keep leaning Lol!

Have a squizz at our website for deals and lessons etc. We sell both Airush and Ozone trainer Kites but sell more Ozones than Airush, they are more expensive but much better quality. We do the buy back thing but to date EVERY person has elected to keep their trainer for parents siblings, friends and partners to tool around with as it's generally a recipe for disaster to put someone who hasn't flown before straight on your big kite.

Our lessons are starting up in a few weeks and our booking system is now live for bookings so feel free to make your bookings if you are happy with us.

The whole free lessons thing was changed on our site for this year so you may want to see what we have going on. We allow you to choose cheaper gear or practically anything you want in fact.

The lessons haven't changed much, same quality but new radio helmets this year and new kites.

Seasons coming, get excited, ....... here we go!

Well you seem to be putting the hours in on here, so that has to be commended. Just one thing, do you have anywhere I can just rock up and get my trainer? just seemed to be mail order, was hoping to get it this weekend.

Hey Barka6,

I'm always available. Just call me anytime between 8am and 8pm. So long as I'm in Perth, I am around At the beach as soon as we get seabreezes.
