So I have a best tt board 136 cm I am 90 kg great board when wind is good,so on a **** day won't do upwind real well so looking for light wind board about144+ but thinking might even look at surf style,
is there a lot of difference in a kiteboard for the surf or can I get away with surfboard like a fish with not a lot of rocker in it , just want to start out with a little swell and chop at Sandgate to practice thinking it would do as a second board, any ideas.

I have fallen in love with the Shinnster in light winds! It has so much effective rail that it just hammers upwind and is super easy to learn strapless tricks on. It also goes well in small surf so it's really versatile. Give one a demo if you get the chance. KPQ should have them available.

Cheapest new LW TT's are from Nige at East Coast Kitesurfing.

Ocean Rodeo Origin Lite 159 x 45 , assymetrical, and Origin 142 x 47

both around $600

I'm picking up both this week so keep and eye out for a review in a fornight.

I ride a 146 x 46 shinn King Gee as my normal TT for the extra upwind. I can kite 13kts on a 12m on this on still flat water.
I was going to get the King Gee 150 x 50 for my LW, (I've tried one and they go great, a bit stiffer but great LW Performance) but they are up around a grand.
