Hi guys , I'm new to the forum , I'm based in the uk , thought I would get some advice from across the pond .
I've done a 3 day course and had a 4 hour lesson following that . I've always been a surfer ( born in SA)
I only weigh 62kgs
I bought a 2013 crazyfly sculp 12m and I constantly feel overpowered unless its 10knts.
I learned on a mixture of 17m zephyr and 12m air rush dna .
I am looking at getting a smaller kite or two as I feel for my weight a 12m is only good for low wind days. ?
I've been looking at the 2013 Best Cabo 9m or a slingshot rpm 2012 10m

I've seen a few reviews saying that the cabo can be good for beginners

Many thanks

Hey mate im 60kg running 12/9 rpm's i love being lite im always one of the only ones riding on the light days, maybe a few others on 17m zephyrs, if i was to only have one kite it wiuld be a 10. If you have a 12 you definetly need another kite and the 9 covers me up to just under 30knots its a pretty good combo, i would also like a 7 for those real windy days but i make do with the 9. RPM's are awesome kites by the way.

Hi Saffa,

Got the same problem last year. I only weigh about 65kg and started with a 10m North Evo. however, felt most times overpowered in 20++ knots winds. I bought a 8m Ozone Cat instead which gave me enough power during summer. I have a 140x42 cm board and this combo worked well above 15++ knots.

Cheers

Cheers for the info guys
I went against the rpm and picked up a kahoona 9.5 2013 , it was such a good price I couldn't resist , but I'm still on the look out for a good rpm deal
Many thanks again

The 12m Sculp has such a good depower range i can ride it into late 20's I'm 80kg so there is a slight weight difference but i would assume you can ride it easily at 20knots, It does have quite a constant pull which is a little funny but you do get used to it. What board do you have? That might be the problem.

Schulerbible, that is a big board for your weight are you riding boots or straps? I reckon you could easily get away with riding a 132 through to a 136 and feel a lot more comfortable especially when you get to the the top end of your kites wind range

same weight as you and been on cab switchey 11m and that gets me out from 11kn to 22 kn then I go to a 9 rpm then I go to a 4 m dna
board mainly used is a 138 x 38 freeride no concaves or bumps at all total flat bottom . this is good for the lite wind days no drag . have other boards for the windy days when it is howling but still like this board . been kiting for 6 years
