G'day people , I was just after some opinions on line extensions
Are they the equivalent of an extra meter to your kite ?
Or not even close
I've read a little about them giving you longer down and up stokes and slowing the kite some
Just wondering if they are viable as an alternative to buying a bigger kite for light / marginal wind conditions
Cheers Iggy

Hi Iggy, i added five metre extensions to my 22 metre bar and lines. The kite didn't fly any slower or faster, but the extra distance/time I could fly the kite through the power zone made a huge difference to me getting up initially and then generating speed on the board in light wind conditions.

yes get extensions if you have 20m lines for sure. 24 m is the best.

if u have 24, going to 28 or so is for racing etc, def not for waves.

They will give you more power.

longer the line the more power
longer the line the less turning response/delay/speed
the shorter the line the safer

i personally just go with whatever the manufacturer reccomends as that was what the kite was designed for. and that will be what it flys best at.
