I just want to check on something so I know what to expect when it happens.

If you are riding a wave and the kite lines go through the lip, do they cut through the water like butter or does the water pull on the lines and mess with the direction the kite is flying. I guess it would depend on how powered up the kite is at the time and how thick the lip is, but any general comments on this would be appreciated.
