Looking for someone that will provide some hands on kite boarding tips. I have had a some lessons in the past but have not continued on with the sport due to work. I have looked into lessons again but they are all to expensive in Brisbane. Just looking for someone to help launch and give a few tips for a couple of session (maybe 2 or 3 2hr blocks). If interested please give me a call on 0405 123 891 to discuss price. Would like to start ASAP.

Cheers

Hey Rich,
I was in a similar headspace to you a few years back. I had had a couple of lessons here and there spread out over a few years. I had had my own gear for a while but never lived in an area where I could consolidate skills after lessons. I moved to Brisbane and tried a few times to figure it out myself again, caused myself a few minor injuries, got in people's way and was making hard work of it. In the end I forked out for one more lesson and it all fell into place.
The enjoyment I now get from the sport made that one extra lesson the best value for money thing I have ever spent money on.

My advice: drop into the local kite shops and chat to them. Pick the instructor you feel most comfortable with and give him some money so he can feed his family and you can enjoy one of the best sports around.

M8, you're asking for a saint! Save halfa G an go get some help, or wing it where no-one else is kiting. (not in offshore but, offshore wind is s**t in brissie - very gusty).
If you can be the first one out or the last one out, you'll prolly get the place to yourself. Watch out for stingrays! (shuffle your feet!) If you've had 2 or more lessons from someone half decent you'll only need one or 2more. Are you Sth side or Nth side?

Hmm that's a difficult one... I guess what you're asking for is someone to give up a perfectly good window when they could be kite boarding to help you out. That's a big ask. You might get that on a sat/sun down Rosebud when the wind is good all day and someone comes back to shore knacked,... but I doubt it. There is always more to learn with this sport so most people would rather be self improving.

Conversely, if you're a hot chick, you might stand a chance.

I'd recommend a lesson (Check out Groupon as you might get a discounted rate there).

I wish you luck.

I'm only very new to kiting but with experience in other similar sports/situations both teaching and being taught, I think salty is right on the money. Only other option is if you have a hot girlfriend that is happy to tag along in a bikini haha

Good luck with it mate. I would strongly suggest saving a few quid and getting some lessons though, even if you have to go pack shelves at coles a few nights a week to get the scratch together. The extra enjoyment you would get out of kiting would be well worth the little bit of time spent

Head down to your local and say "Gday" .
Say your new, looking for some advice. Depending on your local will depend on your success. Also don't expect people to give up kiting time. Be patient. Land some kites etc.
Good luck.
