Changed my 07 boxer bar to the 1:1 setting today, (a)my understanding was that on that setting it is better for light wind conditions.(slowest turning) I've flown the kite about 20 times in total, just getting up on the board,(b)I would have thought that the faster you can fly/ turn the kite in light winds the better you would be.? Totaly different to fly 1:1(c)how long will it take to get used to the almost zero bar pressure.I come from a windsurf background and would quite often be holding down a bigger sail than most on the water, technique not upper body strength.

I had an 07 boxer and only flew it on the 1:1. You can increase the bar pressure by flying it as powered up as you can for the wind conditions. I actually added a few more knots onto the back line attachments as the backlines were too long and therefore non-responsive. My only experience of flying 2:1 was that the kite was actually slower to turn but better in light winds, not the other way around as you seem to think. As I said, when flying 1:1 I shortened the back line length though. Regarding getting used to little bar pressure, I would say don't get used to it. I hate low bar pressure, I like to really feel what the kite is doing, it's also a good work-out. Try playing with the back line length.

Thanks for the tip,i'm guessing you added the knots where the three are at the bar end ?

It was a few years back and I can't actually remember. I know I overdid it the first time and kept choking the kite when barring in.
