Hi all,
Im a new kitesurfer, but technically a level 2.5ish so do not need lessons anymore really. I am buying my own gear however money is an issues so wanted advice on wether which is recomended out of buying a second hand kite or new kite?
I was thinking Package 3/4/5. Is it really worth paying the extra to get a new kite given im still a newbie and could get 4 hours of lessons instead?

We can't answer this question unless you give specifics. As in, what weight are you and what are the predominant wind conditions? What are the actual kite brands and models and sizes? If you don't need the lessons then I assume you're up and riding ok? I'm often asked by passers by how much it costs to get into kiting. I generally answer that a decent used kite, good for learning and getting the basics down pat on, will set you back about $700. It's worth getting a new harness, $250-300. Used boards are more available than they once were, allow $400. That's a total of about $1400. Your package 4 with the new 2009 kite is only $250 more. That said, who has a new 2009 kite to sell? I'd want to know that the kite was suitable for a beginner and not some unpopular model that wouldn't sell.
