Hello.
I need some advice about keeping kite stable unhook with one hand. Particularly, I am trying to do ralley with simple grab with back hand. But as soon as I release my back hand in the air , kite quickly goes into downloop because I pull with my front hand. It didn't do actual downloop, but I have no time to take grab and should quickly put my backhand back on bar to catch kite near water. I tried several times but have no any ideas how to help myself and what am I doing wrong. How should I prevent this in theory at least?

This one-hand issue makes me scary to try ralley to blind. I can do pretty stable surface-pass, but I guess it works because when I do it I have slacked lines (go under the kite before passing). If I am trying to do it with powered kite and without slack lines than same issue appears: kite goes into downloop.

I am riding RPM 12/9. I keep my front hand in the middle of the bar with depower rope between middle and index fingers. Would be glad any help. Thank you.

sounds like the kite may not be getting to zenith and you are pulling a bit when you release your other hand
can help to twist body a little so if you are grabbing with left hand move left shoulder back and down a bit
this will stop right hand pulling as much

hey mate. sounds like your relying more on lift from your kite than pop from your board.
try coming into the trick faster with a lower kite and really edge hard and fast so you get maximum pop out of your board and therefore rely less on your kite to lift you.
the harder you pop off the water the more slack you will get in your lines and the hand that is still on the bar will have less input on stearing the kite.
i also ride 12/9 rpm's, good luck, the more you crash learning a trick the more rewarding it is when you finally get it.
hope this helps.

Don't mind the old hoochie glide myself but I have issues with the kite flying up, I've even tried splitting between the middle and ring finger. If you've not popped hard enough the kites always twitchy. Pop and timing is key! Don't worry about going to blind the kite is driving down and will simply crash into the water as long as you had it low to start with, going to wrapped it's a different story.

Thank you, guys. Will go with improving my pop skills. Want to make some video and post it to get some responses. From first person view It is extremely hard to identify mistakes.

About blind: I scare not about myself but about kite. My first 12/9/7 RPM (2011/2012/2012) exploded all in same places after not hard crashes (not problem with canopy all about LE). Each of the kites exploded twice in symmetrical places on left and right sides. (Please, don't tell me about over inflating, I checked a lot of times psi (never more than 7), and also asked guys to check my inflated kites) And now I am really scary to crash my kite.

I had problems with mine exploding too. My zipper on the leading edge kept blowing appart. Seriously tho if your scared of crashing your kite your progression will be verry slow.

I started a thread about rpm's being weak as piss a while ago, everybody said its coz i crash too much (which i do) but a dry kite exploding in mid air on its second or third session ever isn't normal.

hey mate, I have the same prob. when I go to bling to kite pulls down, but when I land im heading down wind so when I get my hand back on I decide wether to bring the kite back up or just continue the loop (with no power because im going down wind). been trying to get a mobe of ages and my kite shoots up to 12 and makes it hard to make the pass or just landing wraped.

like glen said, crashing your kite is going to happen if your going to head down this path. my bladders a rooted now cause of all the crashes but that's the price if you want progress

I gave up on SS after too frequent blowouts and canopy tears left me on the sand more than in the water.
My new kites cop a worse caning than those SS kites and no problems bar one tear in an F-one that is a bit old now and the usual pinhole\shell gash senario's.
SS leading edge's, canopies, bladders, line stitching all weak as piss, not to mention shrinking p-lines.
It's a pity they fly so good or I wouldn't be looking at getting another one lol

hahaha yeh i tried a bunch of other kites some were pretty good ( i was mainly trying c kites) but they just dont have the wind range and wouldnt get away with having just 2 kites. so i ended up getting the 2014 12m rpm, had it since march and no problems at all. about to upgrade my 9 in the next few weeks too. i am pretty curious about the vegas tho, havent tried one of them. if rpm's give me any more trouble i recon id get a vegas.
