Bit of hijack of this thread, but my instructor recommended this kite for me and would be great to get a second opinion on the bandit. Is it a good all rounder, with good wind range that would suit a beginner? Also good for progressing on?
Thanks!
In my opinion the bandit is one of the best allround kites hands down.
I learnt with it and it makes things soooo easy.
I've tried other allrounders like the Best roca and TS; Cabrinha switchblade and FX, etc... none of them felt the same as the bandit. Plenty of power, constant pull (a.k.a. sheet ang go), high jumps, fast turns...
The only downside might be that the construction is weaker than the others I mentioned, but once in the air it is the winner.
I say this even that I am sponsored and riding freestyle with the Best GP, but I got it ONLY AFTER two whole years riding hybrid kites. For everything up to your first unhook tricks like raleys, backrolls and sbends a hybrid will not only be ok, but I think it is better than C's. I like doing sbends more in a bandit than a C. In my opinion C's only for handlepasses. Everything else, hybrids.
PS: Modern C kites are note more dangerous. Only thing is that they are less powerfull.
