Hi,
i have been learning on an 138 Airush Switch and really like the look of the 138 Crazyfly Raptor Extreme. It is expensive to me so am cautious. there is no dealer in this country so must import and can't trial one (NZ - the two listed dealers on CF site either don't respond to email or even list kiting gear on site). Have read good things about the Duotone Jaime (spelling?).

In terms of progression, I can land small jumps one side (and not land big ones!), toeside, downloop transition. I prefer free ride and have shortterm goal to backloop and longterm goal to mega loop. Am 190cm and 86kg.

I ride in quite choppy water so am looking at board that is fast, light, comfortable and doesn't kick up a lot of spray. ideallly it would also be durable.

Thoughts and suggestions please.

Don't think you'll wrong with either of those. I think there's an uprated version of the Jaime too.

Where in NZ are you? Should be able to get demos on those, and I'd add Axis boards for a demo if you're up in a major center too.

thanks Kamikuza. Am in Auckland. Unless i am missing something the Crazyfly site shows two potential stockists but Ricky Rush did not respond. Suggestions welcome for ways to source or get demo. Was thinking North Atmos as another option...

Ask a local shop? I know there's at least one in Auckland...

I learnt on a switch. They're great boards. I thought there was something wrong with it and I ended up losing it to the sea. I rode another board for a while then I borrowed a switch. Turns out it was my lack of skills that was the problem in the beginning. I'd just keep riding the switch until you lose it.

Thanks PsychoJoe, I don't doubt I have lots still to learn and certainly not maxing out my boards potential. Keen to explore other options to see if they feel even better.

Be aware of the pads.
I always struggled with my feet slipping in pads, then I switched to Naish Apex pads and they made every board twice as good
