Hey Guys,

I'm new here but have just started to journal my kite progression.

Check it out kiteboardingtom.blogspot.com, let me know what you think.

Good stuff TT,

A guy by the name of Hung Vu did this same thing about 10 years ago and it was a very good read.

Keep it up!

Good read man. Nice to see that people have the same experience of learning, makes you realise you just have to keep persevering.

Nice work - thanks for sharing.

Ah learning.

The only thing worse than the endless walking back up the beach was the long swims home...

But don't worry, everyone who "rips" now sucked at one point when they started, and I can assure you a whole pile of us (read me included) sucked for a very long time!

Thanks guys.

Yeah there was a point where I didn't quite think that I would be able to stand on the board properly in both directions and actually 'do this kite thing'. I suck ass at snowboarding (I've tried a couple of times but skiiing comes easier), never wakeboarded and in general haven't done a sport on a board like this.

But after a month away from it, studying, it all clicked and kiteboarding is really fun. Initially there was 4 of us that started the training. Two pulled out for financial reasons (one bought a Harley and the other divorce) and the 3rd guy just bought his 12m ozone and board from Geelong. Its interesting watching him kiteboard. He's a longboard surfer and tries to ride the twin tip like a surfboard. Old habbits that is going to take some re-learning. I've got a few sessions up on him, but it'll be interesting to see how he progresses.
