Wow, you will be aerodynamic that is for sure.

Get your lessons first and your instructor will help with the basics of kite selection. Asking that question here is like asking what birthday present you should get for your girlfriend.

Once you have an idea, do some research and feel free to post any potential kites here to get an opinion on suitability and weed out the death duds.

most new kites work ok for learning. Go to briskites for some good advice and lessons.

WTF?? Do not listen to this. Some kites are suited to beginners and some are definately not. Knowing the difference is critical, and yes your local dealer/shop can assist with advising on which models would be suitable.

Have your lessons first, this will give you a much better idea of what you will want in a kite.

I have surfed for years and ride a TT at a cable park just fine but when you throw a kite into the mix its a whole new ball game. It look me quite a few sessions to get board and kite working together. Lessons and time with a trainer kite are the best thing for you before you even think of getting your kit. I spent hours on a trainer before getting lessons out on the water and this helped heaps because it gives you an understanding of how a kite really works. A power kite dosent have any predigest on who it hurts if you stuff up and board skills wont get you out of trouble when your learning.

You'll find that most people will recommend the gear they use as they have convinced themselves it's the best gear out there.... Maybe it is, for them.

Do your lessons, chat the locals more and buy a kite. Once you can ride you'll prob change your kite next season anyway so you can try something different.

I have a bandit dos in my kit..... I'd only recommend the 2010 B3 if you must have one.
