Hey Guys,

I'm new to kiting, did my 6hrs of lessons and am planning on buying gear in the next few days.
I'm roughly 73kgs 6ft1. I was looking at a 10.5m 2014 Liquid Force Envy. I'm still not sure about a board. I'll be starting with a twintip but not sure about size etc..(any tips welcome :) )

I'll be most likely surfing in flatwater areas like Applecross in Perth and hopefully be hitting the waves after I've got some experience

I'll probably be buying from America as it's super cheap over there.

Any advice guys?
Cheers

Get a Vasectomy ASAP.

If I'de gotten mine a few years earlier then I would be a master kite surfer by now.

Lmao. It is tough to be flexible like the wind when there are family commitments.

Board size would prob have to be 135 and up in my limited experience...
I'm using a 140 and am 85kg.

Each to their own of course, but I prefer to keep my camaraderie with local kiters and shops.

and after postage, risk of getting ripped off, no chance of claiming warranty, and dropping exchange rate is it worth it?
Plenty of good deals in oz

So you get green thumbs, I get reds!

I'd swear there are punks out there to get me.

Try and support and purchase your gear from your local shop. They are an awesome resource and well worth an extra few bucks. They will assist you in purchasing what you need, offer you a test of demos and provide you with after sales support and advice. If your really strapped for cash look at the seabreeze buy and sell section.

Envy is a great kite, I own one and really like it. Talk to your local shop regarding the size.
