While I've been kooking about and learning, I've learned a few things about how not to make a ****head of myself, some of them the hard way

I figured I'd share them here, see if anyone disagrees or has anything to add.
Newbies don't launch newbies if you can help it! Experienced kiter launching a newbie - good, newbie launching an experienced kiter - good (let them know though!), newbie launching newbie - increased chance of problems.
Everyone is friendly - often the more experienced guys will give tips and help you out. It's very much appreciated!
Don't mess about with the kite on the beach - it's more dangerous for yourself and others if you lose control.
Remember to check for other kites/kiters when doing any sudden unexpected movements (such as changing directions while body dragging). Someone could be behind you moving at a decent speed and you risk getting the kites tangled.
When learning how to waterstart, bodydrag yourself at least a kiteline length away from the beach, to save both your kite and innocent bystanders. Try to keep out of the way of the other kiters, there are usually busy paths that people take due to launch point/groyns/whatever.
