Hi Folks,

I have booked some lessons but as yet the weather has not been on my side, I also work away 2:1 roster (Onslow WA) where there are no instructors.

I was hoping to just practice kiting (8m kite) in light winds on the beach and practce the de-powering ect.

Is this ok in your opinion ( I would be with a few other experienced guys but not instructors)

With 5 years of safe paragliding experience i am fully aware of the inherant dangers of wind ect and the perils of not having proper tuition.

Also

a quick queery with the Best 09 Bar

It states beginner riders (max de-power) recommend connecting the Handlepass/ bypass leash to the bypass leash point beneath the chickenloop??

I understand that intermediate riders would attach it to the Leash attachment ring inside the chicken loop.

So where / what is the leash point beneath the chicken loop?

I also read I can connect the leash to one of the front Oh **** lines

Incidently which point of attachment is best for me just kiting in low wind, and what is the best attachment point on the harness

Thanks in advance

I would recommend definately waiting for your lessons. If the weather hasnt been on your side for lessons, then most definately, it isnt right to learn in by yourself. If you are keen on getting going earlier than waiting for your lessons. see if you czn hire a trainer kite for a few weeks, then when you hit your lesson, you will progress faster. Leave the 8m in your garage for until you have had your lesson.
There isnt anything more dangerous in someone unsure of where to connect bits and pieces of the control bar, without adequate instructions.
Be patient, the winds will be hear shortly.
