Hi,
I am 92 kgs and have had a Kite for about 2.5 years. Ive got a 2009 RPM 12m which I learnt on and love the way it flys (although I have not tried other Kites).
I can traverse both ways but to be honest im still pretty average and I think need alot more time on the water before Im worthy of getting a brand new kite.

My problem is that my RPM is pumping up hard but then becomes a little soft which I suspect is because it has a leak in the bladder. Given the Kite is 6 (nearly 7 years old) would I be better to upgrade to a newer second hand Kite (and if so which one?) or is it worth getting it fixed (can you get it fixed?).

Comments welcome.

Not much difference between 2009 and 2014 RPMs except the bar
Sounds like a pin hole but could be valves peeling...
either way you can take the bladder out, pump it up and find the leak (a pool helps).
This takes a good few hours the first time but gets easier and is a good skill to have.
Alternatively, take it to a kite shop or send to Moti Levy,
expect it would cost about $50-200 depending on what is leaking....

If you’re happy with the kite don’t throw it out because of a leak. Odds are it’s just a leaking valve which will cost you about 20 bucks and a bit of time to fix yourself. Check out YouTube – that’s where I got my info about finding the leak and replacing a valve. Good luck...
