Ladies & Gents,
What's the story with the weather in Sydney currently? Will we ever see easterly winds again so I can get another lesson under my belt before I start practicing solo.
Had my first lesson at Dolls Point about 6 weeks ago. My work involves FIFO so I'm only available for lessons one week in the month, however I monitor the weather regularly to tease myself.
For lessons at Dolls Point you require easterly winds. Have I chosen the completely wrong time of the year to try and start kiting in Sydney?

Hi Peadar
In a word: YES
Winter winds tend to be more gusty, more from the South and either storm front (too strong to learn & gusty) or non existent her in QLD.
I recommend you get yourself a good trainer kite and practice kite control when you can and spend a few sessions at a cable park when there is no wind. These will both get you a step ahead and make the learning curve smoother/quicker in my opinion. If however there is wind, go for it, nothing beats the real thing.
Cheers
