Heya! I have taken some lessons and have managed to get up on the board.....briefly, so now time to buy some gear! I have checked out the forums and am thinking of getting either a 2010 Best Kahoona V2 or 2010 Cabrhina Convert. Anyone fly these and could offer some advice?
Also what would be the best size? I'm male, weigh 75kg and I will by kiting around Melb area. I learnt on a 2011 12m North Neo in 15-20 knots which had heaps of power. My instructor said I would be ok with a 10m kite but since the Kahoona is 9.5m would this be a bit too small? Next size up is 11.5m.
The cabrinha would almost certainly end up in a tree so get the best kahoona. in all seriousness both kites would suit you fine. since the kahoona is a fast kite, that 0.5m would be made up in the speed when comparing it too the convert. have you had a look at the cabrinha switchblades?
Thanks for the advice. I have looked at the Switchblade but a few kite shops have said that is more of an intermediate kite and the Convert would be better suited to me.
switchblade intermediate??? The switchblade is a pretty user friendly kite and that's why so many beginners (HEAPS) fly them . That is also the reason why so many end up in trees You cannot go wrong with a switchblade. Keep asking around!
switchblades are great beginner kites, excellent safety system, loads of depower, great wind range and relaunch. would say they would be the best of the cabrinha kites and suit beginners well. i would chose a switchblade over both the convert and kahoona.
I'd for sure go with kahoona over switchblade. They both feel similar but the kahoona is way cheaper. i don't like the SB bar, has too much crap on it. you can mod it but you really need the pro kit which they charge extra for...
Ide say the best kahoona with the red line bar 9.5 or 11.5 im 72kg and can ride the 11 up to 27 knts easy in my opion its the most under rated kite out there .And if you dont want the Kahoona get the swtchblade not the convert its a better kite ,but still no better than the kahoona have fun George
