Yet another quiver thread, apologies.

Firstly, this is just basically a bit of daydreaming/downtime wasting as the purchase definitely won't happen until next season at the earliest.

Secondly, I'm a 85kg Kiting Beginner (currently riding a TT upwind no problem, slide turn 50%, just starting to work on Toeside, all done in the "open" ocean.) I have been surfing for 20 years which led me to get into kiting.

Now, I currently have a 10m Rebel which I found to restrict me a little so far this season (wind strength on both sides of the spectrum) so I am looking to add another kite (or two) to the quiver. There is no doubt that I am heading into the wave riding side of Kiting (on directionals) so after reading various reviews and advice on here, was thinking the North Neo would be a logical step from the Rebel.
I don't really plan on selling the Rebel as I usually just use things to the death.
Any recomendations for Neo sizes? (I'm not trying to start another argument regarding the strength of the Neo's bottom end either and I am open to other brands )

Cheers

I started with a 10m rebel too. Am 81kg and now have 6,8,10 2014 neo which works really well for me. Wouldn't be a drama to keep the 10 rebel and go for 6 and 8 neo. 6 gets plenty of use in the Midwest, but 8 would be most used and 10 least. If there's not enough wind for the 10 I go and find something else to do. Hope that helps a little!

Cheers Dave.
The first addition to the quiver would be something for the 25-32 Kn range for sure. Regarding the light wind days, it's probably me just frothing out too much, heaps of times when it's been blowing steady 15-16 knots and the surf has been crap and I've been dying to get get out there.
I was originally thinking of a 7m for now as I won't go out above around 33Kn until my skills are way better. What do you think, is there too much gap between that and the 10?

25 to 32 I would definetely be on 6. And lower. Particularly if you want to get into riding a surfboard.

But then it's a big gap 6 to 10 so if that has to keep you going for a year or so the 7 might be better. If you are seeing waves as your main action rather than tricks and big air time you tend towards a smaller kite because they turn quicker and you can respond faster to wave changes, chicken gybed etc. cheers

Best to demo mate. But If you are keeping your 10m, then a 7m is a good addition.
