Hi,
I need a 5 line North bar and lines for my 2013 Rebel. Can I use any year model between 2013 and now?
Or have line lengths changed in the past 3 years?
Let me know if someone is selling.
Cheers

Hi Petrie01
The year of the bar wouldn't matter, you could even go back to a 2007 bar if you'd like: http://www.northkiteboarding.com/north-life/manuals/bars/2013/
The lines and safety system configuration has always been the same on all the North 5th element bars. Only slight improvements on the bar have been made since 2013. These bars are made in 4 different line lengths: (19m, 22m, 24m, 27m) the most common length being 24m. 22 and 19m lines are usually recommended for small kites or freestyle and 27m for big light wind kites.
If you buy a second hand bar you just need to make sure you tune the line lengths and adjust the 5th line length if necessary. You want to make sure all lines are the same length and that the 5th line doesn't have more tension (shorter) than the other lines. The bar manuals above explain all this.

There are a few changes since 2013, the floats on the bar ends were improved to prevent cracking, they are a different quality of line, with far less stretch and a more waxy coating, the centre insert is recessed and rather than being point loaded with 2 grub screws, has 2 long hex bolts that pass through the bar and through the inset.
As mentioned bars and kites are backwards and forwards compatible to as far as 2007.
