Hi guys,
I am just starting out kiting and have the basics semi dialled. i dont have trouble staying upwind and and starting to do some little jumps and throwing back loops .
One problem i am having is I seem like i am forever pushing the bar away from me in an effort to stay at a comfortable speed. I ride one handed pretty much all the time so that i can edge further upwind and its less of a stretch to hold onto the bar. when i am powered up and try to hold the bar with both hands i seem to feel overpowered and end up in the dreaded poo stance a little bit. I am getting better at leaning right into the harness and but i still feel like it shouldnt feel that awkward to hold the bar with both hands.
I am 5'11, and mostly ride a 10m in 15-20 knots, but i have a couple other kites i ride in stronger or lighter winds. i dont think its an issue of being overpowered. even i am at the bottom end of my range the kite feels and flys much better when i am sheeted out so i still feel i need to go one handed.
i just feel if the bar was 2 inches closer when fully extended i would feel a lot more comfortable .Is there something i can change in the rigging or anything? or am i being a girl and just not riding fast enough? i mostly ride in cross/on seabreezes in adelaide and its generally pretty lumpy and i struggle to go any faster without spending too much time in the air and ending up down wind!
any help is much appreciated.

Check your line lengths on your kite, could be stretched...

may have a freestyle chicken loop. My loop is huge so when I'm really powered I can't realy reach the bar!

Are u riding a switchblade?

Trim ur kite while riding rather then just going out full power hoping for the best,or maybe ur ready for a smaller board

Im riding a 2012 blade trigger. are the freestyle loops noticeably bigger? ill try checking the lines and see if that makes any difference. i usually ride with a about half to full depower just because i feel like the kite behaves nicer when i do.

128? U must be a light weight. It might be worth having a local kiter spot u to sus out what ur doing with ur gear.

Hunch is ur over powered and kite position too high to compensate - or ur just being a girl

Willing to bet your front lines are about 20cm longer (or more) than your back lines.

Poor Line tuning is most likely the main cause of your problem. get into it

PS: lines shrink, they don't stretch :)

Rear lines need to be longer to bring the bar closer.

boardshort harness and dynabar ;)
for freestyle just use regular spreader.
For your problems with upwind, just go
to a bigger TT, We're selling 142x47
OR Origin for 570 brand new.
Other good options would be Cab custom 144
King Gee 146x 46.
All these boards you can still trick on and maintain way more upwind than regular TT sizes, which means, more trick time.....

Are you edging hard enough? If you aren't edging enough, the kite can sit closer to the middle of the wind window and will feel very powered indeed. Its a lot easier to get a good comfortable stance when the kite is closer to the edge of the window.

Also riding faster will generally make the kite feel more powered not less (apparent wind effect).
