Recently ive been getting into popping airs and back rolls.
On the odd occasion i muck up the landing which brings me too far under the kite, which in return sends the kite into a plummet! Which when it gets to within 10Ft of the water the lines tend to tighten up which speeds up the process of falling to the point where it SMASHES into the water very hard!
Is there any tips for preventing this?
Pulling safety?
Cheers

I guess you mean it's doing a Hindenburg. I usually stop it slamming into the water by ripping on one of the steering lines to turn it sideways so that when it floats downwind enough to take up the slack its sideways and zooms across rather than down. Works about 89% of the time.

Or yeah you could pull the safety but cbf doing that. depends on the safety system, how twisted your middle lines are for how well that would work.

1. Yank the bar hard on one side to turn the kite away from the water.

2. Just let go of the bar. It momentarily eases the tension on the lines, which reduces the power in the kite and reduces the force of the impact.

The solution to 90% of newbie problems is to let go of the bar.

Start to redirect ur kite sooner - slightly before the top of the jump.

Same goes for your rotation,if ur finding the same problem. Prepare for a few harder landings tho

Yeah i used to have that problem with the kite sinking fast after i stuff up a jump what i used to do is what 7tim said and also swimming/running backward away from the kite to take up the line length faster but can still be a some rough crashes

If you feel you are going to swing under you need to start signing your kite to keep the kite flying or.........loop it.....if you make it you look hard core if not your still swimming.........

redirect harder! simple.

your leaving the kite behind you and not flying it forward.

if in doubt loop it!. it wont fall back when its looping!!!

Redirecting the kite sooner sounds better.
