Just looking at the progression dvd's and see there is an app and you can download direct to ipad.

There is a free beginner video that goes for 8 minutes 95mb and its been downloading now for 30 minutes and is only 30% done.

I was thinking of getting the whole beginner series but think it will take 5 days to download?? Has anyone else tried this??

Im downloading through wifi and regularly stream video no problems. Is it there server and should i not bother trying to down load the files? Of does only the free one download slowly?

Hi Bell diver.

No I haven't tried this, but you can pick up the DVD from most kiteboarding shops,.. It's something I've gone back to again and again as I progressed. Simply put as you progress, different sections mean more as time goes on.

Kiteboarding costs about two grand to get setup with gear, treat yourself to another $40 to make sure you get value out of it!

The newbies download through the app is only $30 if you buy the lot. Then there is intermediate advanced ect, so it could work out a bit cheaper if only it would download faster!!

Stuff the video way of learning guys! I know progression are good and i too have their series, but really, nothing compares to just getting out there and doing it! IMO the water starts look too easy in thise videos and they were shot in exotic, far out of the way and expensive locations. Most of us have to contend with murly, stinger filled mud soups and just practice to be able to geton top of the muck! Really... Just get out there guys.

I agree Kazan

But I work offshore and will be out of the water for a month in April, as a way to maintain the kiting stoke I figure I can watch them as opposed to series 5 of true blood an I might learn some tips as well??

And you'll probably end up touching yourself a lot less as a result (no offence to the guys at Progression, but you can't compete with horny naked vampires, no one can. I've researched it... a lot....).

Just buy progression one way or another... it's a hell of a lot cheaper than lessons and lack of progress.

As Kazan says, get out there and do it... but if you can't, keep the fires burning and watch the dvds!

I've downloaded a couple vids through the app - it's painfully slow, and cuts out every time your phone goes to sleep. So annoying. Once you get past that, the videos are incredibly useful though.

Not sure about the elevator music either - it's an extreme sport ffs!!

Just downloaded the intermediate collections 1 & 2 last night. only took an hour, so maybe your internet is just slow. or you're further away from the server or something??

On a side note, buying the individual parts of the 2nd intermediate collection is cheaper than the collection... Not impressed that the 2nd intermediate collection is only available in low quality.

For me, the videos help to solidify what I should be doing and help me correct little things I'm doing wrong, or give me a good understanding of how to go about learning something new. I think everyone learns different, but for me watching and reading things on how to kite really help, im not just talking about the 'progression' videos... It's cool to go home at night, not knowing what you did wrong on the water that day, then looking on a few forums and watching a few videos and figuring it out. Works for me...
