My new kite uses a pulley bar system and i have just been using my old 4 line bar to fly it before buying a new bar.

How does the pulley bar system work?

Cheers,
Al

It gives you a 2 to 1 ratio when you move your bar. If you pull your bar in 2 inches the differance in line length changes 4 inches. So its the same with turning smaller input for more turning. Most of these bars have the option from changing 2 to 1 or 1/1 the same as you are using at the moment. If its working for you there is no real reason to change to a new bar.

My experience (naish boxer) was that 2:1 was really heavy on the bar so for light conditions when your working the kite it was a real pain. However the depower was greater on the 2:1 the kite was still 80% powered on 1:1 until I changed to the smart loop set up.

Doesn't 2:1 make it lighter on the bar not heavier?

Is the chicken loop connected to the bar or the center pulley?
