Hey all,

Curious about the gear these guys use in that race? See seabreeze homepage video... Rottnest Island race....

The board choice looks like a surfboard, the guy winning rode on a thruster that looked about 60 litres or 5'10 in size..... is this the best choice for blasting straight lines in sea / chop?

It depends..

The guys that stand a chance of placing (read: serious racers) have some awesome kit, a lot of it self-made or purpose-made since it's a single tack race. There's foils, race boards, customs, etc..

The rest of us grab a surfboard or even a twinnie and just hold on for dear life - it's a blast!

It's going to be a messy race Gage Roads will be nasty, chop coming from everywhere.
