Hi All, I'm only just starting - lessons and body dragging.
I have a Drake 138 and an 11m Slingshot Fuel, which I bought a few years back for wind where I was living at the time.

Just wanted to know some suggestions for a kite for wind conditions at Safety Bay and Woodies, and is the Drake still OK for a learner ?
I'm 73Kgs.

Boards have moved on a lot since the Drake, you could still learn on it but it was a very stiff board as were most at the time. Boards now have a lot of progressive flex in them and ride through chop so much better that I think you would be better to upgrade if its in your budget.

Cheers thanks, I'll look at a board as well then.
Any suggestions on kites ? I know there are dozens to choose from, just thought there might be some good for beginner througgh to mid-range skill giving me more usage as I improve.

Yeah the Fuel is a tougher kite to learn on simply because it has limited depower and is harder to relaunch for begginers. Its still a great kite though and if there is noting wrong with and you don't need to sell it to fund the new kite then hang on to if for fun.
Go and see Jason at Westozkiteboarding in Safety Bay, he has been in the sport from the beginning, really knows his stuff and tells it straight, no BS.
He is an Ozone dealer now and I know he has some Ozone Catalysts, they are a really excellent kite for starting out right through to advanced wave riding.
Go with his advice though.

Cheers thanks for the advice. I'm booked in for lessons with Westoz Kiteboarding, so should be good to go in the next day or two.
