Accedently hit my safety today and drop the kite on the 5th line (no big problem or so I thought) had real trouble relaunching the kite. As I tried to get the chicken loop back and allow the safety line to pull back through to the kite the the kite would power up and fly out of control at no point did I grab the bar and the back kite line were not crossed or tangled

What was I doing wrong

After deploying your safety it is important to conduct a visual check of the following-

-None of the slack lines are wrapped around the wingtip
- No lines are wrapped around the bar end OR chicken loop

Only after doing this and hooking back to your chicken loop should you allow the 5th line to feed back through.

After checking, feed the line through by hand then swim to the side to allow wind to fill the kite and take up the slack or pull a heap of steering line although this my result in a tangle.
