So my Dynabar line finally snapped at the splicepoint while I was doing my usual pre-flight dive and jump. I knew it was on it's way out, so no big drama there. I ended up rigging up a spesh little workaround to finish off my session, macGuiver would have been happy he didn't have to depend on it, nervous times all round.
Anyway, I was too lazy to fix it properly so today I just replaced it with a standard fixed hook spreader bar. OMFG does that suck serious ballbag! Mega wedgie when walking the kite for any distance, less upwind ability, uncomfortable getting out through the break, and on and on. I know this doesn't apply as much to a waist harness as it can slide but seriously if you sport a seat harness and you don't need to be seriously locked in for airs or whatever, race out and change your spreader bar to a dynabar or rope DYI version. It will be the best cash you spend on kit this season.
Needless to say I got straight home and cut up some spare dyneema and put the dynabar back into action. There ends my public service announcement for fellow nappy wearers who have been molested by their harnesses for far too long.
