Hi All,

Just got a question on what you guys are using for a 2 kite quiver for Melbourne conditions.

I'm pretty much a novice and have been riding for 1 season and just getting into some small jumps. I'm 90 kg and currently riding a 12 meter Naish Helix and 136X40 tt. I'm looking at getting an 8 or nine meter to extend my quiver and get into a bit of wave riding and also just get me out in the stronger conditions.

I really like the helix in the 12 and am wondering what they are like for wave riding in the smaller sizes (I can source an 8 at a good price but thinking this may be 2 small for my weight)

9m would probably work out better than an 8m. It would create more of an overlap and wouldn't leave you wondering what kite to put up when the wind is around 20 knots.

Having said that I ride 13m and 9m ozone edges and the 4m gap in between them is not too bad. There is quite a bit of overlap and in general I will go for the 9m as it's much more fun. I'm 90kgs too.

I am now considering extending my quiver to 3 kites though as I was watching guys on 7m kites yesterday at Hampton and I really wanted to be out there. So looks like I will get a 7m ozone C4 for those 25+ days.

im in same position as you (riding a park tho) nearly 90kg etc
have a 12m and brought a 9m for my second kite bc found good deal

next time would prob go for an 8 tho bc use the 12 unless really windy and on those days im generally overpowered on the 9,

i dont think theres enough of a gap between the 2 kites unless you are planning on getting 3 kites then would get maybe 7 , 9, 12/14
but ye if just 2 i will next time be getting 12 and 8.
