Hi all,

I'm hoping for some advice. I've been kiteboarding on and off since 2010/2011. I am quite proficient at the basics but perhaps a little rusty as my kite has been sitting in closet unused for past few years. I'm hoping to get back into the sport. Wondering if I should upgrade my equipment as I have a little spare cash or continue as is?
FYI - I'm 70kg. Kite is Naish Cult 10.5m. Board is Nobile 555 132x41 (i think!). Use previously in port phillip bay ViC. however looking to also use in surf at phillip island (PS not interested in using/ buyiong surf board at this point)
Thoughts much appreciated. Thanks
Carlos

Re-introduce your self using the gear your used to. After all you will crash it often until you get the handle of the jandle again. Then when crashing less look at upgrading to something newer.

Kites have gotten better. They will be lighter, faster with more depower. But not that much better than 2011 that justifies ditching the old gear and buying new instantly if the old gear is still passable.

Same applies.

Your kite is worth almost nothing now. You might as well fly it till its stuffed if you don't mind the feel. Another idea would be to get a smaller or bigger kite. That will extend your wind range. Replace the 10.5 in a year or so when its fully worn

thanks plummet. just saw ur reply ... great suggestion ... get a diff size kite - why didnt i think that!!

To all other guys and gals on forum. im keen on hearing diff points of view so I'll rephrase my qn...

...which would u suggest upgrading first given above facts... board or kite?

Keep in mind not looking to buy brand new. prob 2015 gear. E.g Id like a TT that gives less spray in my face and also ok for light surf/ chop.

Kite wise do i go for 10m or 11m given my current one is 10.5m. I generally aim to go out in 16-26kt winds (give or take). I weigh in at 71.5kg!

Thanks
